The Redmi K30 was launched in India on December 10, 2019, with a starting price of Rs. 16,100. It is a mid-range smartphone that comes with a 6.67-inch IPS LCD, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor, up to 8 GB of RAM, and up to 128 GB of storage. It has a quad-camera rear system with a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, a 5MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. The front-facing camera is 20MP.

Redmi K30 and its launch in China was certainly the biggest news of the week past, though there were other significant happenings as well. Chinese smartphone brand launched its latest mid-range handset in India, the Vivo V17. At the same time, Samsung finally unveiled its much-leaked next generation of the Galaxy A series smartphones in the form of the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71. No week in the world of personal technology would pass without a WhatsApp update, and we have another bunch of changes this time around. Realme also revealed the Realme X2 will be coming to India on December 17, and HMD Global launched an entry-level smartphone, the Nokia C1.

The Redmi K30 5G variant is powered by a Snapdragon 765G Soc, Qualcomm’s latest gaming-focused mobile platform, while the Redmi K30 4G variant runs off a Snapdragon 730G Soc. Other specifications include a 6.67-inch full-HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a quad rear camera setup 64-megapixel + 5-megapixel/ 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel + 8-megapixel, a dual selfie camera setup 20-megapixel + 2-megapixel, and a 4500mAh battery 30W fast charging support on the 5G variant and 27W on the 4G variant.

The 4G variant of the Redmi K30 starts at CNY 1599 Roughly Rs. 16100 and goes up to CNY 2199 Roughly Rs.22100 for the top-end option. On the other hand, the 5G variant starts at CNY 1999 Roughly Rs. 20100, and goes up to CNY 2899 Roughly Rs.29100 for the top-end model. For now, there is no word on when the Redmi K30 will make its way to India, but we can expect to arrive early next year.

At the same event, Xiaomi launched its Redmi Book 13 laptop, apart from the Redmi AI Speaker Play and the Redmi Router AC2100.
