In 2021, Alankrita said in an interview with The Hindustan Times, “I fought three robbers and saved myself, they would have killed me.” In an exclusive interview with Juhi Chakraborty on September 10, 2021, Alankrita said that on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, three men robbed and attacked her at knifepoint at her rented residence in Chandigarh, where she was working for an interior designing project.
Talking about her horrifying experience, Alankrita said… “Three men forcibly entered my house and stole goods worth ₹6.5 lakh and also cash. It was the most cruel act… I was attacked because they held a knife to my neck, tried to strangle me, put their hands on my mouth, and threw me on the bed. They hit me on my back, neck, and forehead. They verbally abused me and threatened to kill me.”
She said she managed to escape from their clutches and sought help when the three men were out of the bedroom and only then Alankrita managed to close the door. She said… “Then I called my caretaker Rajesh who was downstairs, who eventually called the police. But meanwhile, the robbers started breaking doors and windows. I held the door while they tried to break it down. I tried my best to save myself and fight them. I fought these robbers and saved myself. They would have killed me”.
He further said that one of the robber boys had done complete homework on him. She said… “He knew when my maid left and when I was alone at home. Actually, he was the same man who had come to my house a few days ago to deliver furniture, he was the one who had planned all this.” She explained that the only thing that makes her feel good about the situation is the fact that she was brave.
Alankrita continued… “The senior policeman appreciated me for my wisdom. It feels good to know that I was brave. I don’t want to just be a victim anymore. I want to rise above this.” He said that he has also had sleepless nights since the incident. He said…. “I am so mad. When I close my eyes, I see those three men attacking, throwing me down, and beating me. If even a small sound comes into my house, I get scared. “I didn’t go upstairs to my house because I didn’t have the courage to go there.”
After this horrific incident, Alankrita’s family came from Noida to stay with her. He said… “My parents are in shock. I didn’t inform my parents the same day because I was so shocked that I couldn’t talk to anyone. I was with the police the whole day and then I also had to undergo a medical examination to ensure that all the marks and scratches on my body were taken care of. I didn’t want to upset my mom and dad that same day because I was devastated by the whole situation. By the time I could call him, he found out and is here with me now.”
He finally said… “Everyone is probably doing their job. They were given a police car outside and on the first day there was a lady constable, but I am at home and not going out, so there is no one there now. The policemen said that they will set up a booth here also. But I will not rest until they are caught. I am involved in this investigation until they catch the culprits. I just want them to be caught”.
